a "displaylink" USB to DVI or similar adaptor would definitely give you an additional video output - it provides a completely independent video device separate from that built into the Intel HD GPU.

Intel® Wireless-N 7260 - slows
I too had a lot of problems with this card on two laptops. On one I ended up replacing the card with an older Intel wifi/bluetooth combo because it was cheap and easy - Dell laptop, no BIOS wifi lock-down. On the second, a Lenovo with the BIOS white-list lock-down, I eventually got a new WiFi card out of them which seems to be better. My suspicion is there as been a bad batch of the cards.

Saga continues. with the Drive removed normal access to Setup was resumed, so next step was to ensure that there was nothing lurking on a drive that would cause the problem, so I cleaned an SSD with Diskpart and reloaded Windows. Same problem. Out of curiosity I tried Hibernate instead of shutting down, that worked perfectly. Not only that, but the fault disappeared! So I proceeded to load some drivers, all fine until I installed IRST. Fault re-appeared, and was corrected by choosing Hibernate just once. Puzzled...

I made a short video demonstrating the issue with Lithtech-based games.

I tried to cover all graphics chipsets from GMA950 to HD4600, though there's likely one or two missing.
Nevertheless, the issue was introduced with HD3000 and is still not fixed.

As I said, I followed that thread and managed to change my settings resulting in proper thermal behavior.
My question is how do I keep the settings every time at system startup?
Because right now, I have to load up the utility every time i start my PC, and load the saved profile with the proper settings I listed in the screenshot above.

After your reply I re-installed PROset and it was working fine as expected for about 7-10 days. However today it stopped working all of a sudden. I also tried as you suggested and I let Windows manage the WiFi adapter with no luck so I then again uninstalled PROset and RDP starting working right away.
There was no major system changes, just AV undates but I have also tried disabling Norton Security AV and FW and that doesn't make any difference when PROset is installed.

- I am using Windows with the newest Intel(R) NVMe driver (v 1.1.0.1004), as well as Ubuntu 14.04 with the built-in driver, and an experimental OS
- The disk has been used primarily for testing sequential/random reads across the entire drive
- I have also performed a few experiments with sequential/random writes that sums to about 1 drive write over 5 days.
The Intel SSD Data Center Tool is unable to fetch the logs. All dump commands, except dump identify, fails with "Error: Selected drive is in a disable logical state",
I assume this is because the dump commands use the NVMe Get Log command, which fails with "Internal Device Error".
The dump identify partially succeeds, and I am able to get the "Identify Controller" data structure, which is uploaded as "ID.txt", the rest, probably "Identify Namespace" fails,
which to me makes sense since identify controller shows that there are 0 namespaces.

NUC Kit DN2820FYKH boots on its own at random times
I have an Intel® NUC Kit DN2820FYKH. I only use openelec with it (latest 5.0.8 version-linux with hard wire internet). For the last days it boots on its own at random times (e.g after one day or so). Before that it worked flawlessly. The only things i changed:
1) Bios update from 041 to 050
2) Openelec update from 5.0.7 to 5.0.8
I thought it was smth about the bios update so i downgraded to 0.48. Still problem persists. Any ideas what the problem may be?
Could it be a bios issue or software (Openelec) issue?

There are adapters between M.2 and the usual SATA formats (2.5, mSATA) available, which may help for testing.
