WiDi even not show possible connections

Hi,

 

I have Acer Aspire V3 771G with i7-3610QM, Intel Display 4000 and Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250.

I installed all newest drivers, WiDi update tool says that everything is OK, and I can connect to TV, but when I select devices>Project there is no option to add wireless display. I see my Bravia TV in device manager as TV and streaming device, but i can't connect to it. What i do wrong?

 

My HTC m8 connected to Bravia without any problems, but there is used miracast connection.

 

Win 8.1 Pro

After me contronting LSI with their hardware compatibility list i get this answer:

These drives are on the compatibility list but they had a different firmware version as tested as compared to the version your drives have.

  They were tested with drive firmware version 0265, your drives have firmware version 5DV10270.


"

Would it be wise to downgrade the firmware? I gues not.

Ohhhhh! So it's probably not voltage issues then. That's great news.

I have the baud on the arduino serial output at 115200, is it true that the edison dislikes >9600? I saw that on a post while trying to figure this issue out.

tool to measure bandwith

Would anybody know of a suitable tool that I could use on the galileo to measure bandwidth and throughput?

 

I'm using the basic SD card image.

I noticed the same behavior when I enabled Fast Boot in the BIOS.

Can you check if the issue still persists after you've disabled Fast Boot?

 

Can everyone having this problem please check if disabling Fast Boot 'solves' the issue. While it's not a real solution to the root cause it might help everyone in the mean time until intel gets this resolved.

Hi!

 

We ordered a lot of those NUCs and different discs and encountered the same strange problem with Transcend SSD and not with A-Data or Kingston discs. After a lot of tests I found a problem's cause. On Transcend mSATA SSD (I think the same will be on Your Patriot Pyro) contacts are slightly shifted-off the edge of SSD board and that is a reason. You can see it here:

Probably there is some construction specialty with mSATA socket used in this NUC model. But anyway there is easy solution - simply sand off this edge, press a SSD slightly toward socked during fixing it in NUC and it will work! Here You can see SSD board before and after sanding:

Got the same problem. Bought a new Intel NUC (DE3815TYBE) which freezed during Windows 7 setup. Forced a shutdown und after the next boot, the system did not detect any keyboard (tried with 3 keyboards on all 3 usb slots). In my case, the following steps have solved the problem:

 

# Force shutdown if powered down

# Remove all RAM modules

# Power on without RAM

# Wait for 10 seconds and force shutdown

# Put in the RAM back again and power on

Hi, the antenna has 2 plugin, i understood it so from your first post, that one plugin is wifi and one is for bluetooth or  am i wrong and it needs both? cause i pluged out one of the wires on my adapter card and still have full connection on my Icon on the PC. And i will give you the firmware information later when i have time.

i've test, it doesn't work.

i've contact support but the technicien would not understand what i said.

he want i take a new processor compatible with my mother board but i don't have this.

he said the mother board is maybe defective whileallfunctionbeforeupdating.

 

i'm using iflash2 for 0028 to 0048 and the F7 method for 0048 to 0099. after that i tested all method

 

with all method ,i've this message with Flash update failed! Technical information: (0x8000000000000015, 1560)

Cloning is vanished, after beamer restarted

We are using Dell-Desktops with Intel HD Grafics 4600 for classrooms. With some of this computers we have the problem, that cloning is vanished or removed by users and it is not restarting by itself, when beamer is restarted. We would like to fix such settings like cloning, for that neither users, nore drivers can remove it.

 

Wir verwenden Dell-Rechner mit Intel HD-Grafik 4600 in Seminarräumen. An einigen Rechnern schaltet sich das Duplizieren des Bildschirms ab, wenn der Beamer aus ist und wird auch beim Einschalten des Beamers nicht wieder aktiv. Gerne würde ich Duplizieren fest einstellen, sodass es weder automatisch, noch von Anwendern abgeschaltet werden kann. geändert werden kann.

Yes, I did update BIOS. *always uptodate checking thru the internet.

AFASK, Intel rst is not just for RAID system.

 

As a matter of fact, IRST makes my SSD 21% faster in 4K write !

I tested SATA link many times, it always works nice, but it's not the case for E-sata connection.

 

I think Intel didn't test e-SATA at all d/t it's not the common way to transfer data.

I would say Intel servers are not the stablest thing in the world. When I assembled my server from a decommissioned server, I got all sorts of errors, mainly on RAM. I had to flash the BIOS, and rebooted it many times. Finally it booted up with warnings.

 

I know it is frustrating, but you'll have to keep trying. You RAMs should likely be ok. Try others RAMs if you can. Remember the RAM has to fill certain slots first.

Anyone tried (and succeeded) in using CAN-bus on Edison ?

Hi !

I'm planning to start project about CANbus with Edison.
But there is no Sparkfun Block for CANbus. There are Arduino Shields for it but i don't wan't to use the Arduino Breakout board (too big and too many unused stuff for my use).
So I was wondering, would it be hard to adapt the chips from the CANbus shield (MCP2515/2551 mainly) in a Edison Block form factor, because I'm not electronician.

And OS/BSP-side what are the things to do to be able to use the MCP2515 chip with the mainline driver existing in the Linux Kernel ?

I don't think Edison uses devicetree, to what is the right (and most simple) way to do what I want ?

DISCLAIMER : i don't have an Edison yet, just getting informations to decide if it's worth the try and not too expensive...

I suppose maps will be hard. You would probably require

- GPS filtering (kalman?)

- determine closest road

- process map data (quite some I/O)

- render map + directions ... (without OpenGL graphics acceleration)

I guess it would have to be a pretty lightweight map SW ...

This is the dd command : sudo dd if=iot-devkit-latest-mmcblkp0.direct of=/dev/sdb1 bs=3M conv=fsync and it is same as mentioned in the link.

That's where it gets wrong ;-)

In the link it says of=/dev/diskname

which is correct. But rather than the diskname /dev/sdb you put the first partition of the disk /dev/sdb1 which was wrong.

I.e in your case the command should state

sudo dd if=iot-devkit-latest-mmcblkp0.direct of=/dev/sdb bs=3M conv=fsync
